Visit to Snailbeach District Railways, departing from Shrewsbury Abbey Station around 12.00
and returning around 17.00. (This trip to be done by car sharing/lifts)

Includes walking tour of Snailbeach Mine site and possible visit to SDR locomotive shed.

Short trackbed walk to the site of former exchange sidings at Pontesbury.

Saturday May 18

Annual General Meeting at Shrewsbury Abbey Station,
followed by buffet lunch as guests of the Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust.

Vintage bus trip to selected locations along the route of the Shropshire & Montgomeryshire Railway.

Visit to Cambrian Heritage Railways’ museum at Oswestry, and new station at Weston Wharf.

Evening dinner at Stonehouse Brewery, Weston Wharf, with bus returning to Shrewsbury by 21.00

Sunday May 19

TfW train from Shewsbury to Welshpool

Exploration of former Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway route through the town to Raven Square

Sunday lunch at the Raven Inn, followed by visit to W&L display sheds at Raven Square

Afternoon W&LLR train to Llanfair Caereinion and return

TfW train back to Shrewsbury, to arrive by 18.30
